Account Manager

Nairobi, Kenya

We're looking for someone who understands that winning a client is only the beginning. The real value comes from earning their trust, delivering on commitments, and giving them reasons to return.

You should be commercially minded, organised, persistent with follow-ups, and comfortable taking ownership of both opportunities and challenges.

If you can turn client conversations into business relationships and business relationships into repeat revenue, we'd like to hear from you.

Responsibilities
  • Manage client relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective clients, understanding their needs and identifying opportunities to work together.

  • Drive sales and revenue: Convert enquiries into confirmed orders, follow up on quotations, negotiate within approved guidelines, and consistently work towards sales targets.

  • Own the client journey: Coordinate each account from initial enquiry and needs assessment through quotation, order confirmation, production, delivery, and post-sale follow-up.

  • Develop new business: Identify prospects, initiate conversations, conduct outreach, and turn potential clients into active accounts.

  • Grow existing accounts: Identify opportunities for repeat business, cross-selling, upselling, and expanding our work with existing clients.

  • Coordinate internally: Work closely with design, sourcing, production, and operations teams to ensure client requirements are understood and commitments are met.

  • Maintain accurate records: Keep client information, opportunities, quotations, follow-ups, and sales activities updated in our CRM.

  • Protect the client experience: Communicate proactively, manage expectations, resolve concerns, and ensure clients receive reliable, professional service.

  • Report and improve: Track sales performance, maintain a healthy pipeline, and share insights on client needs, buying patterns, and opportunities for growth.

Must Have

  • Proven experience in account management, B2B sales, business development, or a closely related commercial role.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, presentation, and relationship-building skills.

  • A commercial mindset, with the ability to identify opportunities, follow through, and close sales.

  • Excellent follow-up, organisation, and time-management skills.

  • Confidence engaging decision-makers, understanding business requirements, and recommending suitable solutions.

  • Ability to manage multiple clients and orders without losing track of commitments.

  • Comfortable using CRM systems, spreadsheets, email, and digital communication tools, including WhatsApp Business.

  • A proactive, accountable approach to work, with a willingness to be measured against clear performance targets.

  • Strong written and spoken English. Kiswahili proficiency is an advantage for engaging clients in the Kenyan market.

Nice to Have

  • Experience in corporate apparel, workwear, uniforms, branded merchandise, promotional products, printing, embroidery, or related industries.

  • Experience selling to corporate clients, SMEs, institutions, hospitality businesses, or multi-branch organisations.

  • Familiarity with procurement processes, quotations, purchase orders, and supplier coordination.

  • Experience managing a sales pipeline and working with CRM platforms such as Odoo.

  • An existing professional network or experience building relationships with corporate decision-makers.

  • Understanding of repeat-order sales, account growth, and long-term client retention.
