BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT MANAGER

Nairobi, Kenya

Sokev Studio makes and manages workwear, branded apparel and merchandise for organisations in East Africa: hotels and restaurants, hospitals and clinics, factories and construction sites, banks and corporate offices, schools and institutions.

Our biggest opportunity is the client who needs the same garments again every few months. For organisations with large or spread-out teams we run Managed Workwear Programs: we keep the staff sizing records, allocate uniforms by role and branch, hold stock and plan replacements, so the client's HR and procurement teams stop chasing tailors.

You will build the sales function that wins those clients. There is no territory handed over to you. You will set it up.

What you will do

  • Pick the accounts, then go and get them

  • Sell the whole uniform problem

  • Take deals through the Kenyan buying process

  • Protect margin

  • Grow what you win

  • Keep the pipeline honest

Customer Relationship
Personal Evolution
Autonomy

What you bring

  • 2 to 5 years selling to organisations, not individual consumers, with a record of hitting targets. Be ready to give numbers: revenue, deal sizes, accounts won, repeat rates.
  • First-hand knowledge of how Kenyan companies and institutions buy, and a working network of buyers is a real advantage.
  • Comfort negotiating with procurement teams and presenting to senior executives.
  • Enough product understanding to hold a credible conversation: fabrics, size runs, minimum order quantities, sampling, etc. You do not need to be a garment technologist.
  • Experience in uniforms, workwear, textiles, promotional products, corporate gifting, hospitality supplies or procurement solutions is a strong plus.
  • A degree in business, marketing, commerce, supply chain or a related field. An MBA is not needed. Results count more than certificates.

Who thrives here

You sell to the right people and follow up until the deal moves. You bring in Production, Design and Finance before you promise a price or a delivery date. You prefer building a client relationship to winning a one-off order. You want to build a function, not run an existing one.
